RATEPATIENTS
We no longer tolerate threats, abuse and other misbehaviour from "bad" patients and decided to create a blog to rate patients, just as patients rate md's. Patients, up until now, could misbehave, threaten, abuse or complain without ever having their names published and without repercussions in the case of a frivolous and malicious complaint. Of course we are all aware of privacy issues regarding patients' health and medical status and we must respect these issues. However, some patients behave very badly and there seems to be nothing docs or staff can do to fight back .....or is there? In many instances this bad behaviour has nothing to do with medical issues so there is no reason why we can't keep a list of patients who "misbehave", hoping that perhaps the next potential victims (physician/office staff) be forewarned about accepting these patients. Obviously "psych" patients should be exempt from this list. Patients "misbehave" in the following ways:
1). chronic no-shows
2). physical violence to md or staff
3). verbal violence to md or staff
4). demands for md's to sign illegal documents and certificates
5). frivolous complaints to medical licensing authorities
6). threats and blackmail to obtain narcotics
